Sony TC-W365: Any good?

I felt like adding a tape deck to my stereo setup, and my dad had a TC-W365 lying around. I replaced some floppy belts and it seems to be running fine.

He says it's just a decent deck, nothing special. I have no clue how good it is aside from that. All I can really add is that the build quality is "sorta OK," like I'd expect from mid-90s audio gear. I'd like to see what others think, because I don't really have a reference point to tell if it's a good deck or not.

That deck is mediocre at best. It uses a really cheap transport, the bare minimum of electronics that a cassette deck needs to work, and IMHO, doesn't sound great. It was the BOTL when cassette decks from Sony when they were steadily going down in quality. Really, its not really worth restoring or servicing. I would look on Ebay or Craigslist for a cheap single well, 3 head cassette deck, which, if you can find one, would be a great starter deck for anyone new to cassettes, as long as it is not too complicated electronically.

It doesn't seem to be in need of much servicing or restoration, aside from those belts. I'll probably just tolerate it until I can get my hands on something better.
