Hello All Aker's: I have a vintage 2000 Sony dual well TC-WA9ES. Sony's only repair facility had had 5 cracks at fixing this thing. Each time it would come back with a new problem. Before this bunch started "repairing" it, I had excellent quality and equality of sound on both decks, no matter which side of the tape was playing or being recorded. Using known excellent sound quality cassettes with the "A" side facing out,the only Deck/Play combo that works as before is Deck B, using the Front Play button. If you flip the tape manually, or allow Continuous Play to start playing the B side of the cassette w/the Back Play button, the sound degrades approx 10%. The same exact problem exists on Deck A, except the disparity in sound quality is much greater. There is at least a 33% drop off in sound quality. It was well over 50% before this last trip, so whatever they did improved the situation, but to nowhere near an acceptable outcome. This deck has not really had heavy use, always well maintained internally and covered w/ a dust cover when not in use. Any thoughts of someone or some repair shop that could help me would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Mac:tears::beer:
