Sorry, another "Which should I sell?" thread

I have accumulated five turntables, but feel I could let at least one go. I would appreciate any opinions/thoughts on which would be the least desirable to keep in this group. I will say, they all sound good to me, though some have more features than others. These are more or less in the order I bought them.

Technics SL-D5, AT 120Eb cart/stylus
Technics SL-1350, Shure V15 Type III cart/stylus
Technics SL-L3, Technics EPC-P33 cart/LPGear eliptical replacement stylus
JVC QL-A5, Ortofon VMS cart/Ortofon D10E MKII stylus
Phillips GA-212, Ortofon M-15E Super cart/stylus

Thanks!

Technics SL-L3. Limited cartridge support, and decent but average. The Philips GA-212 would be on my list, too. Keep the Technics SL-1350,, and the JVC QL-A5 as long term turntables. The Technics SL-D5 is also nice.

It's clear some who have posted have the opinion none of the TT I own are "decent" or "good" TT. So, wondering what qualifies as a "decent" or "good" TT? Any suggestions? Just want to know the level of $$ and/or brand/model we are talking here.
The Kenwood KD-770D mentioned is an excellent table if looking for a DD, or one of it's stable mates like the KP-1100.

The KD-770D might be possible around $500, the 990, 9010, 1100, etc $900 - $1300

The KD-770D in exotic wood veneers are being offered by a seller on eBay for around $2800, no affiliation

All of your tables are adequate to use in a system but there are improvements that can be heard.

I'd think the 1350/A5/212 provide different options and are all pretty good tables. You changed the rules and added the need to have 3 which makes dumping 4 to get one really sweet table more difficult.

Your nails are some decent vintage nails with hard to find quality styli. If the needles are sharp, enjoy or you could step up over time to some of the new cartridges. Folks like the 540ML which would have house sound of the 120 but be a better cartridge because of the stylus shape. The VMS is supposed to be something and can take the 20 stylus and work well on the 212 table since it is a high compliance cartridge and a low mass tonearm combo. Don't now the M15E enough but isn't it a similar body/design to the VMS? Since the VMW and FF15 cartridges can all use the 20 stylus and the M15E is like the VMS you might have two of the same or close enough.

I don't know the Technics cartridge. The Shure is a known quantity, higher compliance so good on the 212 but there are better current cartridges. Up to you if you want to move in that direction.

What do you need in a table, manual or at least semi-auto? There are some nice suggestions above and getting one of those or the model without a tonearm and supplying one would be a nice bump up on performance.

But if you want to stand pat, sell off some and keep three that should work out.

I really only have two (SL-1350 and SL-D5) "permanently" in two separate systems in different rooms. I rotate the other three TT into a third system depending on my interest. I do like the JVC. I have no complaints there, and almost certainly would not miss the SL-L3 or the Phillips were I to sell them.

I'm not really looking to sell to get something better, or to have just one great TT. It's more an inventory reduction question.

Well a descent T/T is one that when you listen can send silverers down your back. Can send the sound down the sides of the room & can play an organ bottom note & you can feel it rumbling across your room.
Now these are not T/T systems are not always ultra extensive, but the components have been put together well & the components all compliment each other. So you have 5 T/T that each should fetch around $250, making a total of $1250. That is about the min needed to build a great sounding T/T system

As you like Technics & so do I we will start there with a SP15 & yes I own this one. So read the following I posted a while ago

Cheers

Maybe put all five up for sale, see which two sell first, keep the rest. You won't have to decide then.

I responded a couple times and both times you came back with MORE INFORMATION. This would have been great to put in the original post so we didn't have to keep finding out new restrictions on your situation. I mistakenly thought you might want a really good table and could sell off and get one but you need 2-3 tables, not mentioned in the OP.

As far as selling all and buying something more expensive, that's not an option as I do actively use two or three of the turntables in different systems.

And here you have told us which two are the ones you like with a third table in the running.

Seems to me you just want someone to approve of your tables and your selection of these three. They are your tables, you know the condition, you know how they work and have decided which ones you like. Why don't you take your own advice on which tables to keep? They are fine examples and probably the pick of the litter.

Yup, will be putting the Phillips and the SL-L3 up for sale, keeping the rest. Thanks for the input.

Reason I did not say which I prefer, is I am not a TT expert and so don't know if one or more of my TT had inherent flaws or were particularly respected. Same for carts/stylus. I did mention they all sound good to me, so it really was not a matter of which sounded the best. Sorry if anyone feels I wasted their time.
