Sound Anchors Speaker Stands

Was looking to purchase Stands for a pair of Focal 905. Company, Sound Anchors is located 45 minutes from me and have read some excellent reviews about their single post stands for bookshelf speakers. Not the most eye appealing but good quality. Have also looked at the Focal 900 stands which are made specifically for the Focal 905 and 906 and the Sanus Steel frame models.

Sound Anchors custom made for the Focal 905 $320.00
Focal 900 stands $299.00
Sanus Stand steel stands $140.00

Does quality of speaker stand effect speaker performance and sound? Is it worth investing the money into a high quality speaker stand?

Just avoid those that are made of wood, plastic, glass etc. Sound Anchor products are high quality and expensive but not 'pretty', the Focal stands are 'pretty' but they are made of aluminum and glass, not the best materials for the job. The Sanus stands are excellent quality, made of heavy steel, can be filled with sand, shot etc and more 'utilitarian' in appearance and less than half the price of the others.
