Sound Card to Amp with Powered Speakers

Hi guys
I thought I was kinda a HIFI guy but this has blown my mind and I wonder if you Pro's can put me in a right direction connection wise.
I got the EVGA NU Pro 7.1 card in my PC and I want to use all my powered speakers, I got the AudioEngine A2+, the S8 sub I also got the D1 amp by AudioEngine but not using it causing to much interference. also got a Klipsch Sub10 with high ins and outs, and 2 Powered Monitors JBL 306P MkII.
my goal is to get surround sound through my Card by analog, I have the Yamaha RX-V1 Receiver but when I hooked it all up it sounded like crap, I don't want to use the Optical out on my card but all Analog, do I need to get a new Receiver? the Yamaha is a monster and has no HDMI.
thanks for reading.

Not really following your connection scheme/grand plan, but normally you wouldn't connect powered speakers to a receiver unless you are using the pre outs.
