Hello,
I recently got my first closed-back headphones: the ATH-m40x's; and I am absolutely delighted with the sound and feel of them. After much use of my beloved Grado sr80's, I was craving sound isolation, which I am pleased with on the m40x's. But I'm wondering about leakage, and how much is considered normal.
I haven't used the m40x's sitting next to a person yet. But when I take them off my head and put them down (cups sealed together; volume at about 40%) I can pretty much hear the song (nothing like the sr80's of course). I was expecting less leakage, but maybe my expectations have been unreasonably sealed.
How much bleeding is normal? Can it be quantified at all? Anyone else have these headphones or have any thoughts in general on this?
Cheers, and thanks.
