Any ideas of what a functioning Soundcraftsmen 3000A reciever would be worth today? It is in A+ shape and works well. Thanks.l

Solid State Receiver from the early 70's. Very low power, and I would guess a very low price as a result.

Hey Kyle . . . oops, forgot da link to the pics! . . . low power? . . maybe so, but those are EARLY 70'S watts mind you, complete with chest-hair, mustaches and the approval of Steve Austin, Six Million Dollar Man!! :smoke: . . . low value? . . . mebbe, but I have found NA-DA online about it, even at so-called Soundcraftsmen fan-sites . . . kinda like a hen's tooth then,no?! :D . . . perhaps one of us w/ Blue Book access will proffer up a MSRP :scratch2:

if i get ambitious, i will add some nudies . . . really well laid out/put together, certainly a cut above more common examples from the early 70's

They show up on ebay every now and then, can't tell you about value but I believe they are 30 wpc. Excellent build quality from what one can tell from photos. I believe Soundcraftsmen had a pretty solid reputation for quality gear on the pro level and it's probably a safe bet their home gear is good stuff but I can't speak from personal experience. They offered a couple of integrated tube amps, a tube tuner the 3000A SS receiver and a couple of later digital tuners. Their pro gear was mostly US made and I think all the home gear was produced in Japan. Just guessing but I would say if you aren't looking for tons of power they might be a good choice and probably won't disappoint at a reasonable price point, read that cheap. That's all I know. Hope it helps. WAG, $100-$150 in really good condition.

thanks mibag6 . . . too many balls in the air . . . it really is a nice reciever . . . we'll see!

look I see tubes
Welcome to AK!

Lots to learn here, i recommend studying up on what a vacuum tube is so that you'll recognize them when you see them.

If you expand the first picture in the auction, you'll see "solid state" clearly printed on the front of the receiver. It has no tubes.
