Soundmate Model 1.0 Bookshelf Speakers

I was taking my usual lunchhour stroll through the GW and I ran across a pair of Soundmate Speakers. The cabinets are walnut veneered and the speakers are incredibly heavy for a two-way bookshelf. They were manufactured in Minneapolis, so I'm assuming they were maybe a specialty speaker that DLK made. Anybody know for sure? Wilke87? :scratch2:

Does anyone have any information, specs, etc. etc. on these speakers? I'm going to fire 'em up tonight and see how they sound. Outside of some minor veneer wear, they look to be in excellent condition.

Dlk became soundmates after shaak electronics sued for the rights to the dlk name ,shortly after the business closed .I have never seen that model ,the only models I have seen have looked just like the 1.5s but my brother still hase a small bookshelf that looks like the miniature to that design?

Thanks for the info, Paul! I had a sneaking suspicion that there was a DLK connection to these speakers. The potentiometers are heavily oxidized to the point that I can barely get the tweeters to tweet but a deoxit bath should take care of that. :yes: These are 20"Hx11"Wx11"D and weigh 25lbs. each!

You know after looking at those woofers it is interesting that the dust cap design looks like the very early dlk 1.5 that I have that I posted in the earlier dlk 1.5 thread

A friend had a pair of those in the back of his Vega wagon a few years back. Man we beat the piss out of them.

Only the second pair of Soundmate Speakers I’ve run across in 12 years. These are Model 375’s.
