Hi: Has anyone listened to the differences between two or three of the mentioned carts? I have an Otello ES and like it a lot (more so than my long time Ortofon 2M Bronze). I am thinking of adding another Soundsmith, and am curious to hear from those who may have heard the Carmen and/or Zephyr, which are one and two steps up, respectively in their product line. Did you get a new Soundsmith cartridge? Would like to hear your opinion if you did.

Hi @fpalbrecht: Yes, some months ago (six?) I got the Soundsmith Zephyr Mk II, which is two up from the Soundsmith Otello ES I have in my office. I really like both of them. The Otello was easily better than my Ortofon 2M Bronze, which I used as a part of a trade-in deal on the Zephyr via HiFi Heaven in Green Bay, WI. I have the Zephyr on my main rig in the living room and it sounds fabulous. It is the best and by way of retail price, the most expensive I've ever owned. I am very pleased indeed. Peter Ledermann, owner of Soundsmith, is a national treasure. Watch some of his videos explaining carts, cart design and optimization of your cart & TT. Fun, funny and educational. And you can get your Soundsmith cart retipped for 20% of retail price for life. Solid deal! I am a raving Soundsmith fan now.
 
Thanks for the fast response. I live a couple hours away from Green Bay when it's time I'll go pay them a visit. I'm using a Shure M97xe /Jico SAS now and love it. But, there is plenty of room to upgrade from there. Was there a huge difference between your two soundsmith cartridges?
