Some people require absolute quiet while they sit and think, but I concentrate better (and for longer times) when there is some sound in the background. I like the babble and murmur of a cafe or restaurant more than the silence of my office, but I can't concentrate with 'interesting' or engaging music playing in the background. I need something ambient that doesn't interfere with thinking, and what works best depends on the time of day.
In the mornings I often listen to birdsong, for example:
If you play birdsong through a really good speaker system it sounds like you are in a cabin out on the lake. Late at night I sometimes listen to old Paul Horn records (e.g. the one he recorded in the Great Pyramid) or (don't judge me) a streaming service from 'Music from the Hearts of Space.'
Some more complicated music also works for me, like Santana's 'Caravansarai.'
I would love more suggestions. What works for you?
