Hi folks,

I need to refoam a pair of Acoustic Research AR-90's. All four 10" bass drivers and both lower midrange 8" drivers need new foams. Anyone have a suggestion for a good source? I know someone that got some off of ebay, but not sure of the particular vendor. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I notice that folks over at classicspeakerpages recommend either Rick Cobb or Moonlistener on ebay as a source for surrounds for AR-90's. Moonlistener does not appear to be in business anymore, however. So, I'm guessing Rick Cobb is the best bet.

The generic foam from MAT Electronics works well for the AR-90 and will save you quite a bit over buying from Rick Cobb or Larry at Vintage AR.

Both of them are great to work with, but needlessly spendy for this application.

"Moonlistener" is John Mcpeak, and is no longer on Ebay.
He can be reached at msound@shentel.net
Upon request he will send just the foam for considerably less than the cost of a typical "kit". Generic foam is not compliant enough for AR woofers. Fs measures nearly 10hz higher than spec.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. Much appreciated.

VintagePlus: For clarification purposes, is the Larry guy that you refer to the same one that r_brumett61 is referring to, "Vintage AR" on ebay?
