Anyone know of a source for the screws that attach the chassis to the bottom plate on the 240, 225, etc. amps? My new 240 is missing several, and my 225 is missing one.
I was going to ask Terry DeWick, but it looks like he's on vacation through Sept.
Thanks~

Thanks, but I've scoured hardware stores for screws on this type before, to no avail. Napa auto parts will sometimes even have stuff like this, but not this particular type.

There was an ancient hardware store in Central CA where you could find this sort of thing, but they closed their doors several years ago.

Are those machine or sheet metal screws?
If you can match the threads , try hex head (whatever) thread screws. You may have to buy a hundred. Fortunately (or unfortunately ) my MC60s had sheet metal screws so i just match head size shaft and length and was good to go. I think it was some on line hardware supplier.

These are special screws. Joe on the Bay who makes MC240 and MC225 chassis sells them.

JT--very cool of you to offer--thanks! Here's a better photo of what I am trying to match.

Use self tapping screws. Nobody will ask to see the bottom.
When I service any unit, I always note whether the original hardware was scrambled or lost, and if it was crossthreaded or stripped by overtorquing when replaced. This does not speak well of the person responsible and permanently spoils the originality.

I called the guy I got the gear from and asked if he might have or know where the missing screws are. He said that everything was taken into a local repair shop about a decade ago for evaluation and he got the amp back this way. Fortunately I know where this shop's owner (although they closed about 5 years ago), so there is a chance that the screws can be tracked down. Wouldn't that be something...

Look pretty close to computer screws. I'd guess #6, but it's been awhile since I took the cover off any of my tube amps.
