South Carolina audio club get together.

Would you like to meet me in Cola sc one Saturday morning and hit some record stores and that way it's not such a long drive for everyone? Cola is only about a hour drive for me.

I am on call for two weeks and can't drive to cola so I am going to put this out for anyone in SC if you would like to meet at Papa Jazz records on a Saturday morning and just shop around and maybe have some lunch I just don't want to make it hard for anyone interested and for the local Folks who are interested just PM me and we can go from there. If this doesn't work then as least I have tried to get a SC club together.

Hello fellow South Carolinians,

I'm available to meet in Columbia at Papa Jazz on July 17 or July 31. That's in Five Points with lots of good restaurants and watering holes near by.

Smitty, if you live in Greenville it's a good 1 1/2 hour drive for you. I'm originally from Easley which is 10 miles from Greenville.

Hi sir,
Every time I drive downtown easley sc I think about you and the old hotel is for sale and the old silos have been converted into a lot of restaurants and I know that you still remember the old silos downtown. And I hope a few will join us as we meet soon.

We walked by the silos on the way to West End School but back then we called them the grainery. Glad they now have a purpose and no longer rusting away.

I would be willing to come to Cola on the 17th and if anyone else would like to join us that would be great. And as always my shop is always available to anyone.

My wife and I will be traveling to Columbia SC on July 17 and I plan on checking out Papa jazz records that morning and having some lunch and then it's some time with my wife, so if anyone would like to meet and chill at Papa jazz records you can send me a PM.

Smitty,

Looking forward to meeting you all and any others at Papa Jazz on Saturday the 17th. Just let us know what time. I'll be easy to spot just look for an older bald guy wearing a Marantz T-shirt.

Okay gentlemen here is my plan wake up Saturday the 17th and have at least 2 cups of coffee and leave Greenville around 9 am or so and be in cola around 11ish and visit papa jazz records for about a hour and check it out and then it's some wife and granddaughter time at the art museum and I would love to see and meet some Folks who can make it. I will post that day so you know what time I'm going to be there. If this doesn't work for us in SC for a get together then at least I have tried.

I'm retired but work a few days each week for the SC State House giving historical tours. If interested I can do that with this group on Saturday the 17th. Never the less I'll plan to be at Papa Jazz around 11:00.

That sounds like a great idea but I have already promised my granddaughter a trip to the art museum. And it looks like it will be just us as no body else has confirmed.

Man this just blows my mind as I thought more people from SC wanted to get together but I guess not! I realize the pandemic thing and myself was one that stayed home and away from a crowd. And just wanted to try to have a get together with like minded people oh well! Someone else can maybe one day get a club together! I will look forward to seeing @Poultrygeist as he is from Easley SC.

What made me fall in love with Easley was when I bought a home in Glenwood mill and found that you could walk downtown and just say hello to some stranger and next thing you would be in a conversation find that in downtown Greenville I think not!

OK folks, Going to bump this thread again to see if there is any interest in a meet up at Papa jazz records this Saturday around 11am and like I said along time ago I can meet in Greenville SC anytime for lunch at any record shop!
