Sovtek 6550 vs tung sol vs Sovtek kt88 vs EH 6550

I am fully aware that this is more the line of asubjective issue but I am just wondering if anyone who may have had both these power tube could chime in on them . I am using the sovtek 6550we in my amplifier and for the mostpart they sound pretty good , but some argue that they are not really as good as the sung sol6550 . I have no tung sol but was consideringgetting a set if they were far superior to thesovtek , I do however have a set of EH 6550which I tried but not really sure of what I thinkabout them ???. will the tung sol sound better that both tubes , better bass, mid and highs ????. Whatever you guys can tell me is fine , just trying to gauge the difference . Actually I amalso running sovtek kt88 , which is a differentsound from the 6550 .

Is there any close comparisons among the three different tubes to the tung sol 6550 ?????.

What's wrong with the EH's? Right on the subjective part and I can't offer any personal comparison but I do my own research. Make the spend and do the comparisons myself. My ears and room are different than yours. What I like in my music is going to be different etc. Good luck though. This is never easy. Sometimes you need to bite the bullet and make the comparison yerself.

What amp? Condition of power tubes also makes a difference. Even new tubes from the same manufacturer will measure differently and sound different. Use i-net advice as a guide but you will have to decide for yourself.

I am using some vintage 6550 rca turn amp,they wete all recouped and they play fine.

I have a quad of Sovtek kt88's that have 1200 Citation II hours on them.
They have always sounded good and hold rock steady bias.

Unless they've gotten sloppy and unreliable, Sovtek is a great buy for new tubes.
