Spades or Bananas

I use spades and GLS locking 'nanas, and FWIW I can't hear a bit of difference between them. Personally, I prefer the GLS bananas, but on some stuff they won't work.

Hmm, Audioquest makes inexpensive spades, too, and Needledoctor is right by my house.

Bananas are more convenient, but my experience tells me spades are a better connection.

As for the Nakamichis, they are the exact opposite of the Atlonas: Very beautiful to look at, easy to thread, easy to secure, with easily-expanded tip for locking. The gold plating is top notch. They look quite a bit nicer in person than they do in pictures; unscratched and golden orangey. These are a steal from cnplug and other in Hong Kong selling via eBay. Highly recommended.

I though I'd post this as I purchased both sets at the same time, and feel ripped off with the Atlonas and very pleased with the Nakamichis, which I just purchased another pair of.

Blue Jeans Cable sells spades and banana plugs, yet they recommend bare wire.

I bought some of the Nakamichis. That way I can try them and they're so cheap it doesn't matter. I've had issues with bare wire unraveling and coming loose. Maybe I could flow some solder into the end (if I don't like the bananas)?

I'm planning to buy BJCs Belden cable or maybe the Canare 4S11... still going back and forth on that. The BJC 12ga is like $10, the 10ga is $20, and the Canare is $25 for the length I need.

FWIW I beleive the Nakamichis are bootlegs, since Nakamichi doesn't make banana plugs. Then again, I bought a bunch of 'em on eBay, and think the quality is very good.
