Speaker advice Energy Connoisseur C-8 vs C-9

Hello, So I currently use a set of Energy Connoisseur C-4's as my left and right with an AC-300 as my center. I am looking to get a larger set for my mains (moving the c-4's to surround) and was looking to get either a set of C-8 's (staying the same generation as the C-4's) or getting a set of C-9's. I have read a lot about the C-9's but have never found anything comparing them to the previous generation C-8's. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I haven't heard the Energy C8's but have heard the C9's. Those C9's are one heck of a speaker. It's one of those that you say to yourself this is one of the best speakers I've ever heard...period.

They have a big, full bodied, yet transparent sound and require plenty of room to work. But in the right room with good equipment they'll pretty much play any genere of music with startling realism and make fine ht speakers too. They have the ability to isolate each instrument and place it precisely in a wide, deep soundstage, as do most of Energy's better speakers.

On the other hand the C8's might timbre match better with your existing speakers. My guess is the C9's would be a pretty close match too, Since their house sound of full bodied, neutral with a flat frequency response remains unchanged pretty much from day one.

That is great to hear, I have heard good things about them and figure at 300$ it's a great deal!
