The old standby choices of EPI 100, Dynaco A25, or The Advent Loudspeaker, or even the Bozak 301 Tempo should serve you very well.
An average size room now, but looking at moving to a house with a larger space. Yes, the WAF is important. Any good sites for vintage speaker resale, besides ebay or CL?

The AK classifieds sometimes turn up some great deals. If you become an AK subscriber, the "Bartertown" section is full of speakeraholics.
I've found the best deals through local sales. There are a lot of folks still downsizing their good, vintage speaker sets for small plastic boxes. They know not what they do.

This is a hard one to answer. I ended up filling my basement up with speakers looking for ones that I really liked.
Everybody's taste, stereos, and listening areas are different.
I researched speakers here and looked for them on CL when they became available. Takes a little time, space, and money to acquire them and sell them off but in the end you have a set speakers matched to your taste, stereo, and listening area.
I know you are just looking for suggestions, I just wanted you to know how the speaker selection process worked for me. On the other hand, you might be happy with your first choice...who knows?

For the moeny, the EPI 100 is probably the best sounding speaker out there and should be present in anyones collection, they were one of my last acquisitions and have now driven everything else out of the cave except for some Infinity RS-1001s I run with a CW sub and some D-2s that I paid too much for and spent too much bringing back.
For WHAT "moeny?"

Look at the top of the site - A/D/S L810's - are great speakers - period. I own two sets of EPI, three sets of Infinity, one set of A/D/S and one set of Boston Acoustic. All have been service and refoamed. Some have been recapped.
Of the lot, I'd keep the Boston Acoustics, one set of Infinities and the A/D/S. L-810's will rock the house AND do orchestral, country, whatever. You got enough power to drive them to near window break levels. But they will be so sweet at conversational levels. Just my $0.02 worth

Let's talk WAF.... The WAF barrier is well known to men pushing the limit. As you approach the barrier you experience shuddering (mostly from her) violent maneuvers( usually with her hand up in a STOP motion). Can the barrier be broken??? Sometimes if you use camouflage. Here's an example. A flat gray VOTT speaker will be shot down in flames before you even get off the ground. A basic black tower speaker can also be right in her crosshairs. However, the same tower speaker in a nice rosewood cabinet can make it through!
