I'll second that one. I just ordered from them not long ago because of their price and selection. Very good experience, and I'm happy with the wire... I got 50ft of 12awg, which I'm sure that was overkill considering my short runs and limited power needs, but it wasn't that expensive.

Thats like saying tires are tires or wires and plugs are just wires and plugs. Its all relative to the system at hand. On a system costing a grand or less lamp cord or Homedepot wires will suffice. Now if your system cost in the $10,000 plus range you will seek out more appropriate alternatives to lamp cord etc.

when I got my pioneer system
A few peices of speaker wire called monster Standard s16 standard 16 guage (1.3mmg) speaker wire with ez strip. Jacket mfg by Monster Cable. Mfg in usa. This cable was use to connecting the spec 4 amp to the spec 1 pre amp. I redid the old tarnished ends and now they are shiny stranded copper. But I swear I could goto a home improvement store and pickup something close in the electrical department. Maybe not easy strip. But probably the same guage and thread count. Anyway sounds great.

Mine replaced some Monster stuff (don't remember model name or #). The WL's seemed to open things up. Good first DIY project.
Comparing tires to speaker wire is a wonderfully misplaced analogy.
One more time:
Inductance.
Capacitance.
Resistance.
Which of those 3 properties does "wonder wire" improve on?
My large rig is well over $15K, I run Carol Cable Low Voltage Landscape Lighting Wire, 12AWG 65/30 wire (zip cord to the unwashed). I have been hounded, pestered, and generally nagged by my local audio boutique about my steadfast refusal to pour money into their pockets regarding the purchase of SuperDuper-Extremo Magic Wire.
In point of fact, they (Audio Advice, Raleigh NC) have sent home with me all sorts of exotic cabling because they are convinced that once I "hear" what said sacred copper does to/for my system, I will experience something akin to what happened to Saul upon the road to Damascus (look it up).
Nothing. Nada. There is ZERO magic in a cable. Copper wire of sufficient diameter and strand count is COPPER WIRE OF SUFFICIENT DIAMETER AND STRAND COUNT.
If you run into a wire that actually alters the audio output, you have a FILTER.
If some of you want to spend your money on this stuff (and you do), feel free. But like an addiction to pr0n or crack or Mountain Dew, please keep this information unto yourself.

I love it when somebody gets on a soapbox then finishes with telling somebody else to keep quiet. Perhaps your rig, room, set-up or ears are not up to snuff but all the same cables CAN sound different and more pleasing to people, and even if they dont if it makes that person think it does and he is happier then why do you care????????
Isnt life too short to worry about what makes another happy...your life isnt that empty is it?
