Speaker foam question

I've got some woofers that are around 11 years old with foam surrounds. The foam is still good, except for a cat scratch on one of them. Can I patch it somehow? Rubber cement, perhaps? It seems like a half-inch tear shouldn't require replacing all the foam on an 8-inch woofer.

Nail Polish.

Apply in layers, let dry in between layers. Build up enough to just seal up the tear.

Don't use nail polish- it's too hard and brittle.

Rubber cement will work, as will automotive weatherstrip glue...

Regards,
Gordon.
