speaker handles?

would it be a sacralige to attach handles to the sides of my Primus 362 speakers to more easily manhandle them about without breaking my back. they weigh in at well over 50 lbs with all the additional upgraded internal bracing and being long and tall are not easily moved about on those stupid little "feet" on a carpet.
Any thoughts?

i would say that you could probably add some handles in a discreet location like near the bottom.

maybe even just one handle per speaker would be enough if you use your strong hand on the handle and your other hand cradling the speaker about halfway up. does that make sense? i don't have a handle on my WTLCs, but that's generally how i move them around and it's never a problem.

50lbs? That's all? :D

How about making a small "furniture dolly" to maneuver them around instead of drilling into the cabinets? Casters work well on carpet, too, but you have to be careful with them if the speakers are top heavy.

Yeah and you could use your SO as a back brace. Last time I moved some heavy speakers (EV Sentry IIIs = 150#s per speak) i got my SO to heft some of the chore to the 2nd floor listening room! Man that was tuff and so is she, and her handles are super duper.

SO + handles = movin the speaks.

Cheers,
Bob

Well, he calls himself "Old hifi guy," so maybe he has a bad back. They're inexpensive speakers, so I don't think anyone would care. They're not collector's items.
