Speaker help

I’m trying to figure out what connection I need for my vintage 1973 Scott receiver. The speakers 1 set up is lose and rather than take it apart I want to use speaker 2 but I’m not familiar with the plugs or how to run them or what connection to use. How can I run speakers from the speaker 2 ports or what do I need. Thank you

thanks! just wanted to make sure I didn’t need something different for the age of the outputs. Never seen them quite like that so I wasn’t sure if modern plugs would work or there was a certain kind to use.
 
Since you already have wires, I'd go with this type instead

I'd also cut and restrip those wires, that's really a mess you have right now, and I'm very surprised that you haven't experienced a short. With the above type of plug, you probably only need about 1/4" of bare copper for a good connection. If the wire is connected properly to the plug, you should only see insulation coming out of the plug. Make sure the screws are tight.

Yikes - I'm amazed you haven't blown anything up using speaker cable like that :yikes:

i agree it’s not the right gauge or secured well it was more of a test quick that isn’t the normal set up. I’m just not looking to take it apart when then I can use speaker 2 instead. But thank you for the insight I’m no expert here

What about h and o which is positive or negative sry!!
 
Quit using that set up until you at least clean up that mess at the speaker connection terminals.
 
You should disconnect those speaker wires, restrip them and give both strands a good twist before you reconnect them. Those loose strands are terribly close to each other, if not touching.
