Speaker ID please

They look very interesting. I'd certainly take a look, and would probably get them if the cabinets feel solidly built. Note that there's a jumper missing from the red terminals on the back. You can jump them using a piece of wire. They certainly don't look DIY and probably not white van.

Dome tweeter(?).
Recessed woofer?
Rectangular port(?) below the woofers?

Those don't seem like something a white van speaker would have.
Might be worth an audition.

It looks like the grill frames, without the cloth, are attached to the front of the speakers. If that is the case, you will need to add cloth to rebuild the grills.

I think that is a round port on the upper right. The rectangular dark spot on the bottom looks to be the cabinet exposed below the bottom edge of the grill.

It is a 4-way speaker set up for bi-wiring/bi-amping. They could be good speakers if the cabinet is heavy. But my overall impression is that they are low-end, wannabe speakers. But I have been wrong before, at least once or twice. :D

Interesting guess, but I don't think so. The internet doesn't show anything even close to those. The binding posts tell me that it's probably no older from the late 1980s, but that's not particularly helpful.

@RTally You have a good eye, I just thought it was some strange styling at first. That will make restoration a lot easier, assuming s/he decides to go for it.

A few months back I saw an ad with a single picture of the front of some speakers. One speaker had no grill cloth and the baffle looked really odd. Turns out they were AR2ax speakers where the owner did not know how to remove the grills so he used a knife to cut the grill cloth off the frame of one speaker. :wtf: The knife cut the woofer cone and surround in several places. I bought the ARs anyway. :D

The picture in the ad above reminded me of the speakers I bought.

I did a little editing on the photo to make things are little easier to identify. The round hole on the right is definitely a port and there is one dome tweeter with two identical midranges on each tower. You can see the clothless grills better, too. Dustcaps will need to be replaced on the woofers. Hope this helps.

Tweeters look like the ones that NHT used - if so, they are solid tweeters. Mids give off a Gold Sound/CTS vibe; actually, the whole speaker makes me think Gold Sound.

I would pick them up first and ask questions later if they are anywhere close to inexpensive. They are odd enough to give them a shot.

Its as if Roy Allison and Kevin Voecks created a speaker together by mailing etch-a-sketches back and forth to each other, I am definitely interested to know full details of the driver compliment.
