What did I find here? $10 dollar garage sale speakers that look somewhat familiar, but have no label on them.

Heavy. Grills were nailed on.

Really solid double wall construction throughout. All glued, no screws. Walnut veneer.

Drivers are glued in with black silicone, had to pry them up. Two way with a cheap looking woofer and alnico cone tweeter.

Google search with the info on the woofer label turned up nothing, outer rim where EIA code would normally be is covered in black Silicone. Single capacitor for crossover.

Anyone recognize these?

I haven't listened to them, the surrounds are shot.

They look similar to the infinity POS II, but the driver layout and grill is different, and the tech specs on the infinity show an actual cross over, these have a single cap. These have just a terminal plate with two flat head screws, not the binding posts of the Infinities.

EPI speakers that look similar have up firing drivers on the top, these just have the two in the front.

Google image search hasn't turned up anything.

Those are nice looking cabinets, especially for that price. I'd find some good speakers and reload them. Maybe experiment with some different setups too.

The woofers are from Philips USA based upon their model number and the cone tweeters are the highly respected Peerless cone tweeters widely used in the early to mid 1970's. Decent drivers that don't need upgrading if new woofer surrounds are the only issue.

There were a few different variations of the POS-II.

One had a grill with beveled edges, one has a flat-edge grill, and there's at least two different driver arrangements (one with a dome tweeter, one with a cone tweeter, at the very least).

Given how "fast and loose" Arnie Nudell was with the design of the POS series, it wouldn't surprise me if this is one of those variations.
