Local thrift store has this pair for $40. Very heavy floor standing speakers. Literally no brand anywhere. Look decent. Not sure if anyone can tell if they’re just some off brand, custom, or even any quality at all? Thanks So much.

Pass. My first thought was homebrew with Radio Shack drivers, but the cabinets look manufactured. Cheap speakers, in any case. Unless you are currently without speakers, keep your powder dry for something better, or take someone out for lunch.

I bristle at the vinyl paper on the baffle board with the drivers. Seems like a true tell of crap.

Definitely look like Radio Shack or something like that. Better than nothing if you don't have any speakers at all. But if you do. Hard pass on those

I don't think I would take them home and expect to use in them house. Maybe the garden tool shed.

I think they’re AAL speakers. I have a pair similar. They aren’t that bad.. These are probably the higher end model for that particular brand. The AAL Apollo speakers I have which have the same cabinets & grilles with the tab on top sound ok with my old Pioneer Sx-737 which I believe is around 37WPC. They aren’t anything special but they’re decent. They appear to be in good shape, drivers all look solid, surrounds look good. It’s to bad you can’t test them first. Id probably buy them. You could probably double your money or atleast make $30 off them to a beginner who needs a setup.

Test them out. If you like what you hear offer $20 for the pair. :dunno:

Similar to some rack system Pioneers I found on the side of the road some years back.
Most commented along the lines, now you know why they were on the side of the road!
If you want something cheap for the garage or shop and don't care if they get dirty, and just pump out sound, then something like these is perfect! Might even chase the critters living in the rafters out!
