Speaker Identification needed! Acoustics?

Hey,

I inherited a pair of bookshelf speakers from my grandfather and cannot identify the maker or model number. The only identification mark is a small metal/tin badge that says "Acoustics" in cursive writing. They have brown foam eggshelf covers like vintage JBL's. 6-7" woofer and a 2" inch tweeter that looks very similar to JBL Lancer tweeters (has the little nipple dust cap on it). On the back of the speaker it has a knob/piece that says audio level, and the speaker terminals are old screw type. I will post a pic soon. Any help would be awesome

The logo, "Acoustics" has often been associated with the mundane and is sometimes applied to what are called White Van speakers. Yours may be neither of those. Pictures would be helpful. The fact that your grandfather had them holds promise that they may be something of interest.

Here is the back of the speaker. You can tell by the sheen that there was a label or badge on the back, long since removed.

I agree...if I had to wager, it's probably a house brand for an old local or regional hi-fi store

That L-pad looks exactly like the ones I ordered from Parts-Express a month ago for my E'waves.

... and judging by the ones I had, the woofer on the right speaker is the original one. Check the number on the back for 137 = CTS. A correct replacement shouldn't be too hard, or expensive, to find.
