Speaker Insulation

I have been hearing that a speaker needs insulation inside to keep the sound coming from the back of the speaker from bouncing off of the inner cabinet walls and cancelling out the sound coming from the front of the speaker. My PA speakers have no insulation, should I put some in to improve their sound?:scratch2:

I more or less agree with what rbacci said, but I would experiment. If the cabs are ported, just some open-cell foam or insulation along the walls should suffice- nothing too thick or dense, and probably no polyfill.

I did something similar to my Peavey's back in the day, and it tightened up the mid-bass and midrange a little by reducing a hollow coloration.
