speaker purchase question

I can get a pair of Boston Acoustics HD9 with stands for $50. Is this a value and are they a decent speaker?

I had a pair of HD8s I paid $125 for in 1999. I'm sure since these have a higher model number they probably have a larger woofer, probably a 6" or 8". If they are in good shape $50 won't hurt you. Well worth the risk.

It's a good deal if you want that speaker. Here's the thing, I can go on my local CL and probably get 25 speakers that are good deals, problem is, I don't want or need any of them.

If you need speakers, and something of the general size of the BA HD9, I'd say it's a pretty good deal, especially with stands. Of course, you'll probably have to factor in the cost of replacing the foam surrounds.
