Speaker re-foam Pioneer DSS-E6

Hi all, I have been lurking here on audiokarma and really enjoying all the great help and info you all share.
I recently purchased a set of Pioneer DSS-E6’s that need the woofers re-foamed. I have new foam on the way from Simply Speakers.
Has anyone had experience with these speakers? I am curious as to how I will have to tacking getting the grills off. They appear to be sealed to the woofer housing. I open up one cab to briefly inspect but may have missed something. Would appreciate any info.

Those are pretty sweet speakers. I sure love some high quality Japanese speakers.

You might want to try posting in the Pioneer forum on this website as well. I have no experience with these speakers but it might be something similar to the grills that go over other drivers such as the NS-1000 that I own. With these, you use a small jewelers flat head if I remember correctly and very gently and carefully work around the edges of the outer rim to lift the grill off. Just work carefully without damaging anything. There might be a rubber gasket or ring or something that is helping to hold it in place or it could be glued.

You might also be able to just thread something through the holes that wont damage the grill and lift/pull it off.

Hopefully someone who has experience with these will chime in soon.
