Speaker Recomendations - Yamaha CR-1000

I recently picked up a Yamaha CR-1000. I love it. Currently I'm running it with my Realistic Nova 7B's. I'm not complaining about the sound, but with such a big (size and power) receiver I've been day dreaming about getting some big vintage speakers to go with it. Something that would "tie the room together".

If you were me, what would you be keeping your eye out for on Craigslist? Nothing super rare, or super pricey. Just a solid classic floor speaker on a working mans salary. Wood veneer would be a plus.

I see a pair of Bozak 302A's for sale for about $200. The cabs are the 1950's style in rough shape (scratches, stained fabric, missing a badge). The following is in them:

N10102A x-over
B199A woofer
B209B mid
B200 tweeter

From what I see online, these are speakers that beg to be modded. Their is actually almost too much info out there on it. Any Bozak experts want to chime in on these? What would it take to make them nice?

In general I think the objective is the later ones with the metal mid and tweeters. The B199A woofer was standard cross the board, I think.

Polk Audio Monitor Series Model 7 family members... or other Polks, but the 7s were, and still are, something special as far as I am concerned.
That era of Yamaha hardware complements the Polks of the same era (and vice versa).

EDIT: The Monitor 7 and Monitor 10 were considered (large) bookshelf speakers, but are best deployed as floorstanders on appropriate stands (e.g., the original Polkstands).

Polk built larger morphs of these a few years later (e.g., the RTA-12), and, ultimately, even larger floorstanders, but the 5, 7 and 10 were very special, very high value loudspeakers of their time.

This is a sick rack! I'll keep an eye out for some Polks.

Thanks. I ended up passing on them. I wasn't passionate enough about them after auditioning.

ADS L710
Wharfedale W70's
EPI 100's

I can only imagine. It's wasn't until after I saw your living room that I realized that you are selling almost every speaker on Craigslist in the area ;)
