Speaker Stands and Carpets

I have a pair of heavy concrete Corinthian columns that I use as speaker stands for my modified Dynaco a25 speakers. The setup provides a solid bond between the stands and speakers, but I notice that the speakers/columns can rock due to the carpet underneath.

I have thought of using spikes to couple the stands to the floor underneath, but do not want to drill into the concrete. Does anyone have any other ideas that will stabilize the bottom of my speaker stands setup?

If you place the columns on anything with a larger foot print, it will stabilize the set-up. Some 12"x12" or larger concrete stepping stones might do the trick. You can find these at any home improvement store, at least during warmer weather. Concrete can be painted to look however you want it to also.

You could build a little wooden platform for underneath the concrete column (that the column simply sits on top of) and screw spikes into the wood piece.
