I'm currently running a rebuilt Phase Linear 400 series 1. Not White Oak, but new outputs and drivers, W.O supply caps, bridge rectifier, led meter lights,dc protection and rebuilt control board. I'm using a carver C1 for pre and really like this combo. I'm hammering a pair of MCS 683-8228 with this setup and it sounds great, but want to know what this thing is really capable of without toasting my favorite speakers. Don't get me wrong, I can crank it up stupid loud, but want to know what other PL 400 owners are using. I'm sure CV D9's and speakerlab 7's would fit the bill, but I've been looking and can't seem to find any around here. I have 901 series IV, but no ideal place to set them up except backwards in the garage to scare the deer away.So, what do you guys use?....
