Speaker suggestions with a Scott Stereomaster 233 tube amp

Zeego

Illegitimi non carborundum
Hey everyone. I'm looking to upgrade my speakers sometime this year. I currently have a a pair of EPI 100's that are great but I feel there may be a better combo out there. I listen to mostly jazz and my budget is around $500 - $750. Any new modern speakers that fit the bill?

Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Old Wharfedale W90s or W70s with the alinco magnets and ported enclosures sound great with tube amps. I also like old KLH and ARs for tube amps.

While Klipsch speakers are very efficient and have great dynamic range, even on low power amps, I've just never been a big Klipsch fan. I owned a set of LaScalas back in the 80s. They always gave me listener's fatigue. I even tried some fairly radical crossover mods, but they really didn't help. Wound up trading the LaScalas for a pair of original Linn Kanns. While they didn't have near the bass or dynamic range but, I could listen to them for hours without wanting to stab a screwdriver in my ear.
