Speakerlab Das 7 Value

Super Member
Any idea on the value of set of these in good condition, a set locally, for $400, which is high, that much I'm certain of. A few DAS series for sale now and been parked for weeks around $200. My suspicion is not much more than $200, in the current market.

Thanks

I saw on the web the ones for 400

They look clean but there is no photos of the drivers. I would pick them in a heartbeat for 200 so I think that could be a low offer.. Just me.. I would say come in at 250?

BTW there is a pair of 7WAs... those are KILLERS

The DAS 7's aren't worth as much as the 7's, 7WA's or Super 7's. I think $200.00-$275.00 range is about it for the DAS 7's.

Why ? Compared to the previous generation 7

94 db vs 92 db at 1w1m

275w vs 200 watts per speaker

Rear mounted 12 inch driver = better bass and stronger cabinet

Das 7 is newer more modern

I love mine

I would pay 400 for another pair

Just a popularity issue is my take, by no means a quality issue.

I think there was no intent to bash the 7DAS . I heard the 7 DAS once MANY years ago next to 7WAs. The WAs had more...how to say..grunt? .
Again that was my experience over 20 years ago so maybe today I would hear things differently.
I just bought a pair of S7s ( in Avatar) . I truly believe that SL is greatly underestimated due to the fact they were really selling only in the North West ( I am from Settle myself)

Well i am kinda crazy :D

I would love to find another pair identical to my sevens and stack them.

I bet i am allready damaging my hearing with one pair.

Before my Sevins i never kner a dome tweeter could get that loud :D

The bass moves stuff on my coffee table at 70 wpc in a 18 by 20 room

They are nice speakers'
They are more than just loud

I love the midrange
Female vocalists sound so nice
Piano sounds great too
Look up vkgoeswild on youtube

My thoughts on the DAS line are that there was a semi hostile takeover and the direction of the company was changed. Nestrovic left because of it and went on with Nestrovic Labs that produced high quality speakers at a very high price point. They switched from in house woofers to just purchasing all their drivers.
DAS speakers just don't have that original Speakerlab nostalgia but still sound good. Graebener was still there and knew what he was doing in the design side. After the DAS line they really became Speakerlab in name only...
I prefer acoustic suspension ( Nestorovic woofer system especially) and all the DAS line are ported. Nothing wrong with ported I just prefer the tighter sound of a sealed box.
I agree that the DAS line just isn't very popular.

Wow sc427 great info. I did not realize that the DAs were no longer using in house drivers.
I think you are the only person who actually heard every 7 generation and I believe you mentioned the7 WAs were, to your ears, the ones to beat.

To me it's a toss up between the 7WA's and Super 7's. I've owned (or own) 7's, 7WA's, S7's and I like the later 2 over the 7's. I've heard the DAS, but never owned any. I always felt they were missing something when I heard them.

I was used to always having black drivers in all of my speakerlabs but my s7s are all poly white ( thanks mr nestorovic)
My good friend who sold me the s7s also gets often das speakerlab. I will ask him to listen for me
