Speakerlab Seven restoration

I had expected some of the cross-over values to be different to my 7's which have a 16Ohm Atlas mid and earlier alnico 1000R and 1200R bass speakers, but from your pic they do seem to be the same.

Did you by any chance measure the caps to see if they are still in spec? I ask because I haven't measured mine yet, I don't have a good enough multi-meter to do it.
 
THANK YOU for putting up the crossover schematic! I have half a mind to pull together a set of the Sevens from the Speakerlab drivers I have hanging around and see on CL regularly.

It's not identical, I did use your schematic but I modified it. I removed the 15 ohm resistor wired in parallel with the midrange.
I have not measured the caps to see if they are still in spec, but I'm replacing them with higher quality caps. The electrolytic cap is probably drifted in some way, do not know about the film cap.

Credit goes to ArtD for the schematic.
Some sevens use the EV T35 instead of the T350, which you can pick up for much cheaper. The SL midrange drivers in these also seem to be more rare than the atlas, but you could really use many other 1" screw on midranges in its place with a little know-how.

Hi Sir.Bird, I'm more than happy for anyone to use the crossover schematic as a base for schematics of the other Speakerlab 7 variants. It would be good to have a collection of crossovers for all the different combinations of drivers that were used.

I'm envious of your T350s, everything I've read indicates that they are superior to the T35s - hence their value these days.

Heh, they aren't my speakers, but Laith got a great deal on them and I didn't even know they had T350s in them or I would have charged him more!

I can't believe I was at first not even going to buy these speakers! I would have been really stupid if I didn't!
 
Oh forgot to ask, do you think the grill cloth will be in on Monday?

And did you find out anything about veneer?

I do not know when the cloth will be in.

I found a good deal on zebrawood about $100 for plenty.

Today I almost died in the heat, it was a very long walk.

WOW! $100! Your joking me!

That means we might be spending just what we though we would be spending!

I bet you did almost die in the heat. It gets alot hotter down in Seattle than up here in Everett. Today the high was only 80. I bet it was like 90 down there?

Must have been, I couldn't seem to escape the heat anywhere I went either.
Now it has cooled down outside, but I must keep the windows closed so I don't get eaten by mosquitos!

I need to go in EARLY wednesday in order to work on your speakers, so I can get something done before noon when you have to leave if you do not want to die at the shop.

Get some screens and an indoor air conditioner for your house.

Couldn't you go into the shop later during the night? IDK?
 
Straight up 100 degrees in Bremerton at 4:30 PM, going in to work tomorrow at 5am and be off by noon.
 
Man you guy`s are really having a heat wave! It never broke a hundred the whole time I lived there.
 
And yes Sir that is a custom enclosure and Baffle.
SpeakerLab would never have back mounted a horn tweeter or any tweeter for that matter
