Speakers for a Sansui 9090

I finally upgraded my ol' trusty Sansui 6060 to the
9090 (non db). I ran a pair of ADS L700s on my 6060 for years and they sounded great. These speakers do not sound good with the 9090 and I want the full effect of my new receiver. I have been researching some speakers that are available to me, one being the sansui sp 3500. Anyone heard these on a 9090. My budget is not huge and I want vintage speakers from the era. Any suggestions?

Well, first off I'd be questioning why these speakers which sounded good on a 6060 now don't sound so good on the 9090.

I would be not be blaming the speakers but I'd be checking the specs (health) of that 9090.

The 9090 is in good health, when I turn the volume up to around the 11 or 12 o'clock position the speakers sound a bit taxed and if I'm playing something with alot of bass the speakers rattle a bit?

Agreed. If anything, a properly working 9090 should open up the ADS. Although I do not own L-700's, the ADS I have are all power hungry and sound better with more watts.
