hello everyone, new to this world , new to this website.
I've a HK five twenty and a dual 1019, I was wondering if someone can suggest which speakers to get(maybe from the same era) to get the best possible sound for what I have, without spending crazy $$.

A little more information would be useful. How big is your room? Are you looking for bookshelf or floor standing? What type of music do you listen to? What is your price range?

There are a ton of good vintage speakers out there that may fit your needs and budget (Acoustic Research, KLH, Advent, JBL, etc.). My personal choice for budget vintage speakers is EPI 100's or almost any of the older EPI/Genesis Physics speakers with the inverted dome tweeters but you taste may differ.

If you give your location, many people on this site will be happy to make suggestions on speakers that maybe available locally.
 
thank you, room is about 13ft by 10ft, I'd like some floor standing ones.
I live in west Harlem, 123rd street.
I'll start to look for some EPI right now.

Did a quick scan of the New York Craigslist and didn't see any worthwhile EPI/Genesis speakers. I did spot some Advent Heritages (if still available) that looked interesting though they are more of a 90's vintage speaker. They need new foams on the woofers but they are my favorite Advent speakers (most speakers 20+ years old with foam surrounds on the woofers are probably going to need new foam if they haven't been done already). Some generic 8" surrounds, Aileen's Tacky Glue, a 30hz test tone and a little work and you would have a fairly nice pair of speakers.
