First of all, thanks to all of you for your precious advices and outputs here. Whenever I have a question or need a review regarding any audio stuff, this place is always the one I look up to. Keep up your amazing work!
I have a home theater system that acts as my audio amp, a Sony STR-DA3ES (the black one, not the chrome one). I'm pleased with it, really, but looking to upgrade my cheap Panasonic SB CH94 speakers. I see many. many vintage speakers here and there, but from what I've been reading here, many things have to be considered before buying anything to get the best out of my system.
What do you think? What specs should I be looking for? Passive, active or amplified speakers? Any brands or models come to mind? What questions should I ask myself that I'm not right now?
As for the budget, I'm always on the lookout for some second-hand gem that'd go for cheap in my area. And there seems to be quite some! But I'm definitely asking your opinions first!
I'm aware a true audiophile amp would be a significant update right from the start, but I'm looking to get the best of what I already have
