Speakers that sound like Dynaco A25's

I am trying to find this Dynaco floor standing speaker, if it is one. Anyone know the model number or what these are? I bet these sound great. They have many SEAS and Scan-Speak drivers.

I love my A25s. I got them from an AKer, at an AK discount. Mine also came with floor stands and are mated with a pair of JBL XPL 140s for a very nice living room setup.

That's only the 1/2 of it. That doesn't even include the cabinets. If the cabinets are included, it's over $1100 each!

2 grand can buy some very nice speakers or a pair of 25's with upgraded tweeters and other mods for less than 1/2 that price.

Not to defend Madisound (they are always over priced), it is actually over $1100 for a pair.

It's pretty difficult to find a 10" woofer that can be used without an inductor like the ones used in the Dynaco A-25.

:o Sorry I misread. The charge is for a pair each. Actually using the inflation calculator and $80 list price given on the Greg Dunn Dynaco website the cost of a new pair in today's dollars would be $1030, not too far off the Madisound price and the kit probably has better parts; capacitors, terminals, wiring, woofers, tweeter, etc.

I know, for a speaker that has very liittle as far as crossover, its an amzing design.

Its all about this patented aperiodic (essentially non-resonant) woofer design which utilizes a highly damped vent (not a reflex port) whose acoustic resistance is very carefully controlled.

Anyone know of other speakers that have "aperiodic" design?
