Hi
as probable you know , there are 2 options to connect speakers in this setup

directly from the SPEC 4

OR

to connect wires from the SPEC 4 speaker terminals , into the SPEC 1
and from SPEC 1 speakers outopt (A/B) to speakers

wanted to know , is there any difference? sound is the same?
what is the preferred way to do?
thanks

I'm sure a purist would say that the sound would be better with the speakers connected directly to the SPEC 4. Essentially, there would be no difference in sound either way. BUT, if you want the headphone jack and the speaker selector switch in the SPEC 1 to work, then you must connect the output of the SPEC 4 to the SPEC 1 and connect the speakers to the SPEC 1.

My opinion:

If you are running your SPEC 1 with something like a SPEC 2/4 or a SX-1280, etc... run it back into the SPEC 1. They are designed for each other, so it works.

BUT.. if you are running something like an M-25 (what my dad uses), M-22, etc..run it straight to the speakers... it's a better amp, so I feel like you are downgrading it by putting it back into the SPEC 1.

Yeah im using a SPEC 4
maybe it's psychological but i connected it back to the SEPC 1 and from there the speakers
and it sounds better! maybe i'm eluding..
maybe some tech. or electronics expert would look into the scheme diagram
and check if there are any enhancing units between the speakers IN/OUT

The only circuitry between the speaker in and speaker out on the Spec 1 are the relay contacts for the speaker selector switch.
