I just picked up a pair of FL9s from FB Marketplace. I had been listening to Avalon NP2s, which I liked a lot but there was always a 2khz harshness that triggered my tinnitus, so I decided to make the change. Immediately, the harshness is gone, and the soundstage is much better. What was really surprising is how different recordings sound so different, especially older albums, which sound boxy and closed off on the high low end. I've spent a lot of time in recording studios and have Neumann KH80 monitors with the sub in my home studio, but even those don't sound like chameleons the way the Spendors do. Modern recordings sound really good. I've heard things I've never heard before.
