Spendor S5e vs A5's opinions ?

I've acquired a pair of S5e's [ too good a deal to pass on] . In listening I'm pleasantly surprised at the sound quality .
Having owned a set of A5's [sold them prematurely] , the S5e seems more opened - relaxed than the A5
they don't give anything up in accuracy as far as I can tell .
I think they are very neutral - if it's a good recording you hear it. Conversely if it's a poor recording you don't want to hear it !
It may be that the S5e's are broken in ? if that is /can be a factor

Try 300 next time. Face them toward each other grille to grille (touching), and run 'em 24/7. To keep the volume down, reverse the red/black leads on ONE for lots of phase cancellation and then run the volume higher. Then it goes faster.
I know, I know . . . some folks say speaker run in is a myth, but it's not a money loser like turning over speakers too fast is..

Speaker burn in is no myth. Unlike solid state audio components where the benefits of burn in are questionable and far less apparent, speakers have moving parts, voice coils, etc. that can benefit from some degree of play or burn in. How long it may take to achieve any sonic improvements is debatable depending on the make and model.
