Spendor sp1/2 mid and tweeter issue

Hello all,

I recently grabbed a pair of 99’ spendor sp1/2e’s. I have them hooked up to a sansui 2000a and have tried them on an arcam a1 also. The tweeters and the mid drivers don’t seem to be working on either speaker. I have tried them on a biwire to single banana plug on the arcam and I have tried using both A and B speaker inputs on the Sansui to “biwire” that as well. I’m hoping this is human error. Any ideas?

I'm not totally clear on how you're wiring between amp and speaker, but before you try any fancy wiring, just install the jumpers between the low and high sections on the speakers and run one wire from the amp to the speakers. If you don't have the original jumpers, you can use short lengths of any sort of wire. Thickness isn't terribly critical due to the short distance. If that works, then you can look into what you were doing wrong when biwiring. If it doesn't work, then there's probably something wrong with the speakers.
