Splitting the Pre-Out?

Currently I have a Sansui AU-717 that I am using as a "pre-amp only" to feed a separate more powerful 2 channel amp.
Would it be poosible for me to split the pre-out on the Sansui into 2 and send 1 to the separate amp and send 1 back into the Sansui to make use of its own internal amp on a second set of speakers?

Or would that just be decreasing the signal quality going to the separate amp?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

if its any help...i split my preamp signal out 4 ways. that is into 4 amps. and there doesnt appear to be a decreased signal, or percieved volume. stereo can still crank, if i want it to.

Should be fine.

Just use "Y" cables and loop one end back to the main in on the Sansui, and extend/continue the other ends out to the amp.

That's exactly how I have my SX-1250 and a borrowed Soundcraftsmen RA 7502 hooked up. The 1250 powers the HPM-100's and the 7502 the JBL towers. Works like a charm without the stress on the 1250 if both pairs of speakers were hooked up to it.
