this is what the listing says.

I have a really nice pair of ADS L1530 speakers for sale. These were used by Telarc Records as their studio monitor for many years. These have a 1 " dome tweeter, 2" dome midrange, and two 10" woofers. These are big speakers, weighing 115 pounds each. These speakers also can be biamped, with two sets of terminals on the back for biamping, if desired. Power handling is 500 watts. You will not find a nicer pair of one the best speakers produced by ADS.
Phone 509-999-5203 Cash only, and price is firm.

Good morning, I'm in Spokane and found this forum while looking for more info on the same pair of L1530's, posted on craigslist. I plan on contacting the owner this afternoon after teaching classes. They would be a great addition to my studio!

Anything I should look for when checking the speakers/x-overs/cabinets out?

Dave :scratch2:

Welcome! Make sure all drivers work (obvious, sorry). Gently push in the woofers to feel for obstructions, there should be none. If you really want them, contact the seller now so you are FIRST in line. Good luck, hope you get them.

Dave, If you haven't found it already the specs are located here at the ADS reference website. I've never heard a pair but some think the L1530's are finest speakers ADS made. That price seems reasonable and if they are as nice as the seller states they should be a nice addition to your studio.

Welcome to AK and good luck.

Thanks for the info guys... The call has been made, apointment set for this afternoon.

Here is my home studio pic:

I am excited to have some good clean large reference speakers.

Peace, Dave

We have worked hard to get our new studio together. The room was remodeled and most all of the gear is new in the last year. Right now, we have a few different sets of speakers for mixing. This room also serves as a home theater room with a 140" screen, Toshiba 1080i projector, Sony ES system, Audio Control Rictor Scale, SAEII amp, 6 Yamaha Speakers & Peavey Black Widow 18" Subs.

low volume mixing: Yamaha YSS-M100
med volume mixing: Mackie HR-824

We are going out at 6pm to take a listen and run some test cd's with the L1530's. You can never have enough reference speakers. My fingers are crossed that these speakers are in great shape. If we buy them, We will take some good pictures and get them posted here.

Thanks, Duffinator for posting a link to the specs!

There is more studio pictures here: www.dinsystem.com

Hey guys,

Well, we went to our apointment and took along our test cd's. They were in a small listening room 10x10 or so. The speakers are in great shape and had new grill cloth. We liked what we heard. I must say, they sound wonderfull in our large studio room.

Today, I will be wiring them bi-amped, adding a nice ampeg 15" sub, 10 gauge oxegen-free speaker wire, mogami cables, three crown amps and a DBX Drive rack PA X-over. The results should be stunning!

Peace, Dave
