That's really excellent. And it makes me happy to learn that the Brixton lad was an early supporter of the Jersey kid...

Bowie was the first artist ever to cover a Springsteen composition, recording a version of "Growin' Up" (with Ronnie Wood on lead guitar) in 1973 during the sessions for his album Diamond Dogs. It remained unreleased, however, until the 1990 reissue of his all-covers album Pin Ups.

The Boss seemed genuinely moved recalling the trip he took to Philly "On a Greyhound bus" (to visit Bowie during the recording of Young Americans in 1974). Now I really want to see his show when it rolls through the Bay area...

Da Boss also honored Glenn Frey in Chicago by singing "Take it Easy"

Guess Bowie was also a small guy like Springsteen. Thanks for that pic tomcatmixd.
