I found this SR 1100 up at an estate sale. I didn't invest much $$ since others I looked at online weren't retailing for a whole lot. The receiver was so clean I couldn't help myself. Anyway, since I'm not at all familiar with the unit is itnvery popular or have any collectibility??
Any information or opinions are much appreciated!!

Any post asking about Value HAS to go in the Dollars and Sense thread.
Will move it there for you now.

The post was updated and any questions about value has been removed.. I'm really only curious about if it would ever be very popular or. collectable or not.

^ My take is that it's not the Marantz that everyone drools over so I doubt if would be collectable maybe to a Marantz completest

I imagine it is no different than ‘80’s Pioneers, Sansuis, Technics and others. Probably sounds ok, looks ok, built ok, but cheaper than it’s ‘70’s counterparts. Nothing wrong with that at all, just not very collectible. Would anchor a great garage or bedroom system.

Doubtful it becomes valuable.
Play it, enjoy it.
Or maybe pass it on to someone who might want to get into stereo or needs a bedroom , dorm or garage stereo.

One has been relisted multiple times on ebay for $150 and hasn't sold. Seller started at $200, from first relist on seller priced it at $150 with no buyers.
Might have some value but don't plan on retiring.

Your responses pretty much confirms my suspicions about the unit. It's obviously not built with the same quality as the other pioneer Marantz and Kenwood receivers that I've collected that were made in the early to mid 70s. Unfortunately like it's been said the quality of the stuff made in the eighties just doesn't compare and never will. Thanks for your input.

30 WPC at 0.1 THD, so not quite the same 30 watts as a 2230. I agree with the consensus, but if "not much" is two digits you did fine.
