SRV and Albert King - Wow!

Greetings all. I am watching a PBS broadcast of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King - recorded in 1983 - it is mesmerizing! I have read that Vaughan considered King an influence, but watching them together is amazing. You can definitely see where he got his "note bending" ideas from! "Born Under a Bad Sign"; "Pride and Joy", etc. It is pledge drive time, and I may have to pony up! I have never heard of this recording before - is anyone aware of whether it is commercially available?

"Got" his note bending... or "blatantly copied" his note bending... I leave that to others to decide for themselves.

Personally, I wish SRV hadn't gotten famous for a few more years. He had undeniable chops, but IMO he hadn't yet had the opportunity to assimilate his influences into a more unique personal style. To my ears he was very derivative and lacking in subtlety. I feel his style was frozen by his fame before it had a chance to more fully evolve. The fact that he got fame and fortune playing Albert King's licks while King was largely unknown beyond the hardcore blues fans always bothered me, and I believe (based on some interviews I read long ago) it bothered King as well.
