RWD (really only one wheel drive) Suburban was doing better than 70% of vehicles on Manchester today....a minivan couldn't make the left in front of me and aborted to the right. I made the left from a dead stop without a problem. The drifts were deeper than they look.

There's something to be said for a 5000lb RWD vehicle with a 37gal (full!) tank over the back axle. Idiots abounded.

Loved that little Shuguang i12 amplifier. If I ever find one when I have some extra cash, I will grab it.

Great GTG! Met and reconnected with awesome musicians (Adrian from the St. Louis Symphony) and industry pros (Charlie from high-end salon St. Louis Stereo, who knew people associated with Max Load, my punk band from the 70's, who recently had 30+ year music rereleased on local archive label BDR Records, earning me an invite back to SLS). Leben gear was awesome, heard homemade steampunk tube gear with amazing transparency and 3D imaging through Model 19's, and saw familiar faces and brought a neophyte vinyl collector as well! Dave knocked this one out of the park! A good time was had by all, and the Gateway Audio Society and the associated folks proved to be alive and well! Kick ass.

I just bought your record from Vintage Vinyl actually I bought 3 of them. One for my myself, my girlfriend, and my biological mom who went to school with at least one of you guys. She could only recognize one of your pictures from the cover.

Next time I will have to get out to the meet up.

The house was hopping, as we ended up hosting 27 folks. The food was great, some bang up gear, and a very interesting critical mass of new folks, been around the block folks, and cutting edge/new/vintage for both music and gear. :thmbsp:

We set up the Leben CS300x and Leben phono preamp with the Snells in the back bedroom, and then did a St. Louis premier of the new to the world Max Load album, a collection of their singles and tapes from 1979 thru to about 1982. Belleville's best punk band sounded quite tasty, and then Mike Jaffe recounted what it was like playing bass and all that, back in the day.
