STA 95 or Pioneer?

I am looking for a receiver for my office and have been looking for an SX-636 or 737. I love my SX 838 in my main system, just don't need as much power for the office. So far I haven't found one close by but I did find an SX 626 with a set of CS 44 speakers and an unknown cassette deck for $70. Haven't gone to look yet so condition is unknown. Also found a Realistic STA 95 for $70. I had an STA 52 back in the day and really liked it. Is there a real big difference between the 636 and the 626? How does the Realistic compare with Pioneer? Thanks

The difference between the Sx 626 and the 636 is 2 watts. The STA 95 is a beautiful receiver and if it works properly and you enjoy these, I'd buy it. A little pricey, but not every piece can be bought for cheap. Here is what they said about it in 1979. 45 wpc. http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/catalogs/1979_small/ page 7.

I'd get the Realistic. I owned the 626, nothing wrong with it, but the Realistic just has more going on.

STA 95 is a good unit. Very easy to re-cap , sounds great after the re-cap,real wood case. The unit you are looking at might not need a re-cap but mine really did sound better after one.IMO 70 Bones is not too bad if the unit is minty mint.

I picked up an sta-95 awhile back, it's easy on the eyes and sounds fine, it's now doing duty in my sons room driving a pair of Utahs.
