Stacking Chorus on top of La Scala

Folks my space is limited but I love the Klipsch speakers.
I have a pair of La Scala and Chorus.
I am thinking of stacking the Chorus on top of the La Scala.

So my question concerns thr weight.

Do any of you Klipsch experts out there know if the La Scala cabinets would be fatigued or crushed over time with the chorus speakers on top of them?

There's nothing quite like excess when it comes to loudspeakers.

I have seen a stack of Chorus on top of one another by a veteran Klipsch owner without any problems, but they do weigh 90lbs a piece. This would put my Heresy/Cornwall stack to shame.

The efficiency is going to be different on the two; La Scala's are around 105db @ 1-watt versus Chorus I "showing" 101db which I believe is a tad high. Both sets are 8-ohm so an amp that could handle a 4-ohm load "might work" depending on how new or old it is. If an old, non updated, silver series, or anything out of the 70's and into 80's that hasn't been updated cap wise, etc., I wouldn't do it. Now, 2 separate amps you could do but you'd want some sort of level adjustment on one, or both, so you could gain match them. Otherwise, the Chorus will potentially get left in the weeds in volume in comparison to the LS.

Me personally, if space was the issue, I'd pick one or the other and call it good. Chorus will have more bass, in some respects, in comparison, but the LS will have better bass but a lack of low extension.

Just my $.02

Shouldn't hurt.

So in looking at the three threads you have going, are you looking at buying Forte's and LS's to go along with the Chrous' in a room barely big enough for any of them?

I was only asking about the weight of one being stacked on the other

If my experience is any indication, you have *nothing* to worry about. I can't tell you how many times I've actually stood on my LaScalas over the years. Didn't like doing it but a ladder wasn't handy at the time.

I've owned them since 1979 and not the first sign of stress from being stepped on (nor any shoe prints, always took shoes off!)

I say, stack away.

That said, I would wonder if PLAYING them at the same time might cause some sonic issues... but you weren't asking about that.

Thanks Coytee , exactly what I was looking for

Todd, I see Concert Grands, Cornerhorns, Hersey, maybe Altec 19, or something of that shape, Cornwalls, and a whole bunch of something else. ?????

Symphonies on top of Altec 19's.
The 4 stack are Advents...someday I'm gonna find some AR3's.
Between the CG's are stacked DQ-10's that get pulled out about 7 feet into the room for play, and I gotta say they're working their way to top contenders.
When they're off duty, up against the wall (actually about 18 inches from wall), they somehow do some kind of room treatment that make the K-horns really work well.
